As a Scout Group, we believe that we are here for those that need us so they may become the best they can be. The opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and learn practical life skills by experiencing them through the scouting programme is legendary. Participation and personal growth is more important to us than winning competitions, but we do see competition as one of the means to create opportunities to learn. We understand people's means vary widely in our diverse community and do not pressure unnecessary expenditure.
Children grow and reach their potential differently, we at 2nd Hout Bay believe our Meerkats, Cubs and Scouts should have fun, engage and learn to reach their individual potential within the means of the Den, Pack and Troop programmes.
We are a nurturing group with a lot of support from our parent body, as well as the schools, businesses and religious affiliations in our beautiful diverse Bay.
We consciously search out diversity and view ourselves as an inclusive group welcoming all sexes to an environment where they will be heard and be safe. We also encourage our group as a whole to engage in activities that help to positively impact the wider community in our valley, and to engage with the wider scouting community when the opportunity presents itself.
